Salves should be kept in a cool, dry area. Do not let salves freeze or melt as this will cause the consistency to be off. The product should still work as intended if this happens, but the consistency will make it more difficult to apply.
I have arthritis in my knee and plantar fasciitis in my foot and this takes the pain away from both. I massage just a little bit (doesn't take much!) in before bed and I can walk when I wake up. I apply as needed during the day, too. I can't say enough good things about it. It truly is wonderful.
