Hemp Shampoo & Body Bar

Ingredients: Hemp glycerin rosemary, peppermint, and tea tree essential oils

Our hemp-based soap with rosemary, peppermint, and tea tree essential oils makes lathering up in the shower more luxurious than ever. Use it as a shampoo to clean hair, as a bar soap to cleanse skin, or both! It will bubble up just the same either way, and hopefully will leave you feeling just as bubbly after each use. Works especially well for oily hair types and sensitive scalps.

Natural shampoo bars are easy to use! If you are new to shampoo bars, finding the right bar and using the best technique for your hair can help in a successful transition from synthetic shampoo to natural shampoo bars. Since natural shampoo bars are so gentle, it may take a while to remove all of the silicones and petroleum-based products used on your hair for years. If you do not lather and rinse really well, you will have areas that remain coated with the soap oils and synthetic shampoo residue, which will make your hair feel “gummy.” The simplest way to prevent this is to fully lather and rinse your hair multiple times!

Soaps can be returned back to their bags for storage, preventing bars from sitting in water will keep them from softening and dissolving. They can be hung up in a shower or put in a cupboard.

Lakota Made's Shampoo & Body Bars are made without added preservatives or harmful chemicals, such as parabens, sulfates, formaldehyde, and synthetic fragrances. Our eco-friendly bars are also free of microplastics and plastic packaging, making them good for both your body and the environment!

Ingredient Benefits

Hemp Glycerin: rich in antioxidants, and strengthens skin by replenishing it of its natural protective oils. Hemp soap deeply cleanses pores without irritating the skin, and can also reduce flaky skin and wrinkles. It's particularly beneficial for those with oily or thinning hair, as hemp helps to balance your hair's oils and naturally stimulate hair growth.

Rosemary Essential Oil: anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial, making it a good choice for those dealing with scalp issues such as itching and flaking. Its anti-inflammatory effects are also what make it beneficial for potential hair growth purposes, as it helps keep the follicle healthy to support hair growth.

Tea Tree Essential Oil: ant inflammatory and antimicrobial properties.

Peppermint Essential Oil: ability to help relieve skin irritations. When applied topically, peppermint leaves a cooling sensation – a benefit attributed to the numbing properties of its primary component, menthol – that can help heal and soothe minor irritations. Also, peppermint can cause a cold, tingling feeling when it increases circulation to the area it's applied to. This can help promote hair growth during the anagen (or growing) phase. One study found that peppermint oil, when used on mice, increased the number of follicles, follicle depth, and overall hair growth.

How to use a Lakota Made Shampoo & Body Bar as a shampoo

  1. First, make sure that your hair is thoroughly wet.
  2. Gently rub the shampoo bar directly onto your hair from scalp to ends in a combing and/or circular motion. Continue to add water as you create the lather. (To prevent tangles, be sure to always work from the top down, don't pile your hair on your head, and use your fingers like a comb, not a mixer.)
  3. Lather up your hair fully, then be sure to rinse, rinse, rinse!!! Especially if your hair is new to using a shampoo bar, you'll want to fully lather and rinse two or possibly three times.
  4. The rinsing should take longer than the washing and lathering time. If your hair is long or thick, lift up sections of your hair to ensure that all of the shampoo bar residues are rinsed clean. Also, pay special attention to rinsing the middle back of your head and the nape of your neck, as these are common trouble spots.
